Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I become a member of SCC? An audition with the Artistic or Assistant Director is required. No preparation is necessary. To schedule an audition, call Mr. and Mrs. Riegle toll-free at 1-866-662-1151.
  2. What are the fees for a NEW member? For new members, the amount to participate is $415.00 - this includes tuition for the year, the SCC Uniform rental fee, 2 tickets to the Leap Fundraising Gala, 2 tickets for each of the SCC Community Concerts (Winter and Spring), 3 tickets (Child+2 Adults) for the Banquet, and the new membership fee (which includes an SCC t-shirt).  The amount for additional "new" siblings to participate is $165.00 per sibling.
  3. What are the fees for a RETURNING member? For returning members, the amount to participate is $385.00 - this includes tuition for the year, the SCC Uniform rental fee, 2 tickets to the Leap Fundraising Gala, 2 tickets for each of the SCC Community Concerts (Winter and Spring), and 3 tickets (Child+2 Adults) for the Banquet.  The amount for additional "returning" siblings to participate is $135.00 per sibling.
  4. Are there payment options available?  There are payment plans available.  You may also pay your tuition using a credit card.  For those needing financial assistance, SCC does accept partial scholarship applications at the beginning of the year - more information will be discussed regarding payment options and scholarship applications at the opening parent meetings.
  5. When does the choir rehearse? The SCC Season begins in September and concludes in May. Apprentice Choir rehearses Monday evenings at Our Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point from 5:30-6:30 p.m., the Concert Choir also rehearses on Monday evenings at Our Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Treble Choir rehearses in the Choir Room at Liberty Bible Church in Valparaiso on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
  6. What other time commitments are involved? In order to be in good standing with SCC, members must attend rehearsals regularly and perform at all performances.
  7. When are auditions held? Auditions are held by appointment from May through August.
  8. When will I find out if I have been accepted? You will be notified by mail within a week of your audition. If you have been accepted, you will receive further instructions and paperwork with your acceptance letter.
