Southlake Children's Choir

Our Mission

Southlake Children's Choir promises to provide a premier choral experience for children and audiences throughout Northwest Indiana. We will live up to this promise by performing quality literature with excellence, providing age appropriate voice training for treble singers, helping children build confidence and poise through performance, and inspiring a lifetime of musical involvement.

Founded in 1984, Southlake Children's Choir is a non-profit choral ensemble dedicated to offering a quality musical experience to children ages seven through fourteen in Northwest Indiana. The choir is made up of three performing ensembles, two of which rehearse in Lake County and one in Porter County. The Apprentice Choir (Crown Point) is for young singers in grades 2-5, and the Concert Choir (Crown Point) has members in grades 5-9. The Treble Choir (Valparaiso) consists of singers in elementary and middle school.

An audition is required for membership. For more information or to schedule an audition, please call 1-866-662-1151 (toll-free). Our season runs from September through May, and we hold auditions by appointment from May through August.

SCC is ice skating at Deep River Waterpark! When: 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 28. Everyone must arrive at the same time, however, and meet at the group sales office to enter together. Cost: The group rate is $3.00 to ice skate if 14 and older and $2.00 if under 14. Skate rental is $4.00 per pair. This saves $2.00 off the ordinary rate. Food: To eat there (optional), buy coupons at the group sales area. A slice of pizza and pop is $4.75 plus tax. Hot dog, chips, and pop is $3.00 plus tax. Please feel free to invite friends and family!

Don't forget to bring in auction items for Leap Into the Arts! The gala is only one month away! These items can be something small (movies, games, gift cards, etc.) or big ticket items (time share donations, vacations, etc.). Thank you for your help!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING A NEW REHEARSAL LOCATION FOR CROWN POINT CHOIRS!!! Rehearsals for Crown Point Choirs (Apprentice Choir and Concert Choir) will take place at OUR SHEPHERD EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (1515 W. 93rd Ave. Crown Point, IN 46307). Our Shepherd Lutheran Church is located south of the Meijer's in Merrillville, and is close to Highway 30 and Broadway.
